HBLAB Launches First On-the-Job Training (OJT) Program in Japan – Empowering the Next Generation of IT Talent

Tokyo, July–August 2025 – The year 2025 marks an important milestone for HBLAB as we launched our very first On the Job Training (OJT) program in Japan. The initiative offers young Vietnamese talents with strong Japanese language skills the opportunity to learn, grow, and gain valuable experience in the IT and digital industries. More than a training course, this program represents a journey of personal and professional development, helping the next generation build skills, gain confidence, and thrive in an international working environment.

Right from the beginning, OJT 2025 captured strong attention thanks to the unique value it brought to students. Participants had the chance to take part in real projects together with experienced HBLAB engineers, while also receiving structured training based on Japanese standards such as Agile, software production processes, and security practices. In addition to technical training, the program placed great emphasis on communication, teamwork, and other essential soft skills. For many, the program also opened a potential pathway toward full time employment at HBLAB with competitive salaries and long term career opportunities.

After a selective recruitment process, eight outstanding participants officially began their journey on July 15, 2025 at HBLAB Japan in Tokyo. The opening day was not only about welcome kits and team bonding, but also a special sharing session delivered by Mr. Hoàng Đức Diệu, Chief Technology Officer at HBLAB. As the leader of HBLAB’s technology strategy, he provided technical guidance and inspiring messages about the company’s vision and culture, preparing students to step into real projects with seriousness and determination.

Over the course of one month, from July 15 to August 15, the OJT program created lasting impact through both numbers and experiences. The eight participants completed a total of 17 direct training sessions equivalent to 35 hours of learning, attended 46 training engagements, joined 10 additional skill development workshops, and engaged in 57 learning sessions through the Agilearn system. These achievements reflect not only the scale of the program but also the discipline, effort, and eagerness to learn of every participant.

Each trainee received training relevant to specific roles such as business analysis, project management, business development, and marketing. They were introduced to IT fundamentals, outsourcing industry practices, and B2B marketing, while also being coached in core skills such as communication and content management. Most importantly, the program allowed students to join projects directly through one on one OJT, where they carried out real tasks and received regular feedback from mentors. This hands on approach ensured that knowledge quickly turned into practical skills.

For many participants, the program was more than just professional training. As one student, Nguyễn Xuân Thịnh, shared, “At first, I was worried about keeping up, but thanks to the dedicated support of my mentors, I quickly became more confident. Beyond technical skills, I gained valuable teamwork experience and built meaningful connections with peers who share the same passion.”

Although OJT 2025 has officially concluded, its impact will last far beyond the program itself. For HBLAB, this initiative marks the beginning of a long term investment in nurturing young talent in Japan. For the students, the skills and experiences gained during one month of intensive training now serve as a passport that will help them confidently pursue new challenges in the future.
