HBLAB: How did the partnership between HBLAB and SAS begin? What is your first impression of HBLAB?
Junya Kagamoto: When facing difficulties in recruiting engineers, we began to consider developing offshore. After several meetings with the CEOs of various offshore companies, we believe that collaborating with HBLAB is the best option. In particular, the enthusiasm of CEO, Mr. Thang, the positive attitude of HBLAB towards AI and advanced technology, and the ability to communicate fluently in Japanese are important factors leading to this decision.
Another impressive point is the fluent Japanese of everyone and the excellent expertise in technical fields, including information technology. I believe that being able to engage in in-depth discussions based on extensive knowledge with your talented engineers has helped us transition smoothly to collaboration.
We sincerely thank you for the meeting that has led to an effective partnership like today. We look forward to continuing to create greater value together in the future.
HBLAB: Could you please tell us the reason you chose HBLAB’s development service?
Junya Kagamoto: Currently, we are facing significant difficulties in recruiting engineers, especially in ensuring that we have outstanding members. The vision for the product we want to create is very clear, and the development of new features as well as the modification of existing products, is an urgent task, but we are completely unable to keep up with internal resources.
In this context, we are particularly interested in “Lab development services.” We find it very appealing to ensure and utilize a stable number of working hours by having an external team of experts. We believe that this enables us to carry out product development and modifications quickly without being hindered by recruitment challenges. We are highly optimistic about overcoming this challenge by relying on the expertise of HBLAB’s outstanding engineers.
HBLAB: How do you evaluate the cooperation process between SAS and HBLAB so far? Do you feel there have been any positive changes in the way of working?
Junya Kagamoto: Collaboration with your company brings significant value, as we can share our expertise and extensive experience that we do not possess.
You not only provide developmental resources but also offer specific advice and suggestions for our ideas, which greatly assists us while carrying out projects through continuous consultation. Through this dialogue-driven development process, we feel that our ideas are more refined, and both the quality and speed of product delivery have improved. We feel that this is truly an ideal partnership, where we can grow together and create better things.
HBLAB: We have been informed that among the projects that HBLAB is supporting SAS, there are two projects that are your flagship products in the market, "Lion Economy" and "Lion Costs". What decision have you made in choosing us for such important projects?
Junya Kagamoto: First, we have been informed that your company has extensive experience in developing systems for enterprises. As we believe that knowledge and expertise in developing large-scale systems are essential for our requirements, this is a very reliable factor.
Furthermore, when we were informed that you possess specialized knowledge and development experience in the field of human resource management, we felt that this aligns perfectly with our needs. We believe that this high level of expertise is essential for the project to run smoothly and also contributes to improving the accuracy of perception adjustment in the early stages.
And above all, what matters is that you have promised to assign members who have a deep understanding of the development language and the framework necessary for our project. We have determined that this allows us to begin development smoothly without worrying about technical discrepancies.
HBLAB: Throughout the cooperation process to date, you may evaluate the quality of the project and personnel of HBLAB according to the following aspects: overall quality, response speed, adherence to deadlines, working process, communication, technical capability, and ability to handle issues/changes?
Junya Kagamoto: I believe that the quality of the delivered products is very good. They also strictly adhere to deadlines and are flexible in accommodating additional requests, which is very helpful.
HBLAB: According to you, through the projects supported by HBLAB, what specific values has your business created (for example: reduced working time, increased work efficiency, improved corporate image, etc.)?
Junya Kagamoto: They help us implement the functions and products we desire quickly and with high quality. I believe that the number of functions released has increased significantly, and the value of the products has also been continuously improved.
HBLAB: Do you have any messages or praise for a specific member of HBLAB, or the entire team?
Junya Kagamoto: I am very grateful that they have carried out the work regularly and on schedule each week, and delivered the products on time. We have truly been helped a great deal in areas where we had no knowledge, especially concerning infrastructure.
HBLAB: Additionally, if you have any points that HBLAB needs to improve upon or any suggestions to enhance the quality of the project, please feel free to share?
Junya Kagamoto: Due to the nature of our products, specific foundational knowledge and a deep understanding of business operations are essential. In particular, there are many instances where we need to accurately understand the complex laws and regulations of Japan and appropriately apply them to the product specifications.
Therefore, we hope that your company will actively share professional knowledge about operations internally. We believe that the knowledge you have accumulated so far will help our entire team understand better, and is the key to developing higher quality products and complying with the law. We look forward to further developing products together through this knowledge sharing.
HBLAB: What expectations do you have for collaboration with HBLAB in the future?
Junya Kagamoto: The product currently under development carries our great expectations. We wish to collaborate with your company to develop this product into a higher-performing product that meets market demands.
We believe that your expertise and technical capabilities are essential for enhancing product quality, expanding functionality, and optimizing user experience. In the future, we expect more from you in actively proposing new services and functions to us based on your outstanding technical capabilities and the rich development examples from other companies that you possess. We think this will create greater synergies and significantly expand the capabilities of the product, rather than merely being a collaboration in development.
We look forward to continuing to receive your collaboration to develop the product and maximize its value. We sincerely hope to create a future together. Thank you sincerely for participating in this interview.
We hope that the partnership between SAS and HBLAB will continue to develop further in the future.
