On October 21, 2026, Pyeongtaek University (South Korea) used M-Meeting, HBLAB’s AI-powered multilingual meeting assistant, to provide real-time translation at an international academic conference co-organized with the Institute of Vietnamese Studies and Development Sciences (IVIDES), Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
A Conference Connecting Vietnamese and Korean Scholars
The conference “Preserving and Promoting Vietnamese Culture in the Vietnamese Community in Korea” was part of IVIDES’s working trip to Korea from October 19 to 22, 2026. It was co-organized by IVIDES, Pyeongtaek University and a Korean research institute for Vietnamese studies.
Nearly 50 delegates attended, including leaders of the three organizing institutions, local government representatives, the Association of Vietnamese in Korea, businesses, researchers and students. The program was divided into two panels: Vietnamese Culture and Vietnamese Studies and the Vietnamese Language. Topics ranged from preserving Tet traditions in Korea to teaching Vietnamese to children in Vietnamese–Korean multicultural families. The two sides also discussed cooperation to support the Center for Vietnamese Studies at Pyeongtaek University.
Real-Time Translation for a Bilingual Audience
With speakers and delegates from both Vietnam and Korea, language was the first challenge to solve. Pyeongtaek University chose M-Meeting to translate presentations and discussions in real time, so every delegate could follow the proceedings in their own language.
M-Meeting converts speech to text almost instantly and displays the original alongside the translation. Delegates could focus on the discussion instead of the language gap. After each session, the recordings and transcripts remain available for summaries and review.
For HBLAB, this is a meaningful use case: an AI product originally built for business meetings is now supporting academic exchange and cultural ties between Vietnam and Korea.
About M-Meeting: The AI Meeting Assistant That Removes Language Barriers
M-Meeting is an AI-powered multilingual meeting assistant developed by HBLAB’s Strategic Technology Center (STC). It began as an internal tool for HBLAB’s work with international clients and partners, and STC later refined it so that any organization can use it.

M-Meeting combines three roles in one platform:
- Interpreter: real-time speech translation with low latency.
- Meeting secretary: records, transcribes and stores meeting content.
- Meeting assistant: automatically summarizes meetings, refines transcripts and answers questions with AI.
Key Features
- Real-time AI translation: speech is converted to text almost instantly and translated with low latency. The bilingual view lets users choose a target language or listen in a single language.
- Flexible audio input: capture audio from a microphone, browser tab or screen, for both in-person and online meetings.
- Speech-to-Speech: AI translates and reads the translation aloud in a natural voice.
- Recording and transcription: every session is recorded, so no information is lost.
- AI summaries and Q&A: generate summaries automatically and ask AI about what was discussed.
- Meeting knowledge management: meeting content is organized so it is easy to search, share and reuse.

M-Meeting in HBLAB’s IT Projects
M-Meeting is used every day in HBLAB’s software development projects. HBLAB’s project teams in Vietnam meet regularly with clients in Australia, Singapore, Japan, Korea and other markets, where language differences can easily lead to misunderstood requirements or delayed information. M-Meeting makes these project meetings more effective in three ways:
- Clear communication across all parties: clients, project managers and engineers follow the same bilingual content during the meeting, so requirements, feedback and decisions reach the development team directly instead of being relayed through several people.
- No more language barriers: engineers who are not fluent in Japanese or Korean can read the translation in real time, ask follow-up questions and discuss specifications, progress and issues directly with clients.
- Easy project record-keeping: every meeting is recorded, transcribed and summarized automatically. Team members who missed a meeting, or who join the project later, can look up past decisions instead of relying on handwritten minutes.
Proven in Practice
As of September 2026, M-Meeting has supported 2,134 meetings, more than 1,246 hours of recordings and nearly 200 users. It is one of HBLAB’s AI products, alongside the AI solutions HBLAB delivers to businesses in Japan, Korea and other markets.
What’s Next
The conference at Pyeongtaek University showed how AI can make cross-border exchange easier, from business negotiations to academic research. HBLAB will continue to improve M-Meeting so that businesses, universities and organizations can work together without language limits.
